Itasha (’ΙŽΤ), literally "painmobile", is a Japanese term for an otaku fad of individuals decorating the bodies of their cars with fictional characters of anime, manga, or video games (especially bishojo game or eroge). These characters are predominately "cute" female. The decorations usually involve paint schemes and stickers. Automobiles are called itasha, while similar motorcycles and bicycles are called itansha (’Ι’PŽΤ) and itachari (’Ιƒ`ƒƒƒŠ), respectively.

The cars are seen prominently in places such as Akihibara (Tokyo), Nipponbashi (Osaka), or Osu (Nagoya).

Double-J (manga)

Double-J (‚Ύ‚Τ‚ι‚Ά‚₯‚’) is a Japanese manga series written by Eiji Nonaka and illustrated by Maru Asakura. It began serialization in July 2009 in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine. An 11-episode anime adaptation produced by DLE aired between June and September 2011.

In Nagashima High School where after school activities are mandatory among all students, Hajime Usami and her friend Sayo Arima come across a new club that they have never seen before. The club is called "traditional Art Inheritance Club". The two enter the room to find all kinds of analog jobs and activities, such as handcrafting mats and toothpicks. This is a unique cultural manga mixed with comedy.

Kit Review

Fujimi 1/24 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG was released in July, 2011. It was after the Revell 1/24 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. German Revell's kit can open the gull-wing doors and bonnet hatch. And it has carried the engine moreover. Fujimi's kit can not open all of them but is lower than Revell 's kit (only in Japan), and that quality is not a cheap. It include the photoetched parts.

Step by Step Report the 1/24 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Itasha Double-J

The manga character decal put on this car model is not a goods on the market but mine own work with PC and Alps Micro dry printer MD-5500. I had been planning build of the original car decorated with manga characters for some time. "Double-J" is my favorite comics. When Double-J was finished, I build this model as a token of my gratitude to the authors Mr. Eiji Nonaka and Mr. Maru Asakura.

I made the small figure as accessories of this car. Her name is Hajime Usami. She is the heroine of this manga. Super deformation figure is popular in present Japanese pop culture. Nendoroid and Nendoroid-Puchi (Nenpuchi) from Good Smile Company is the most popular product in them. unfortunately, the Nendoroid of Double-J is not released. Then, I made it myself.

Double-J is the comedy of traditional craftsmen. So there is the scene where Tsumayoji-san (Her real name : Maria Sassa) often introduces new craftsman around...

Double-J vol. 6 episode 85 "Rock is Dento"
Sassa "I will tell you about a member. She is Miss. Ashina the time machine craftsman."
Hajime "Time machine craftsman......."

I was introduced by her as a model craftsman, too!

Sassa "I will tell you about a member. He is Omami the model craftsman..."

Wow!! How creditable it is!!! :-))))))))
I became a member of traditional art inheritance club. Thank you so much Mr. Asakura!!

Now, he contribute "NO-RIN" to bimonthly YOUNG GANGAN from SQUARE ENIX.
